following programs are happening at the Amador
County Senior Center...
June 10
~ 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. ~ Commission on Aging
Legislative Committee Workshop: discussion of many
legislative items of interest to senior citizens.
Open to anyone who is interested. Description and
explanation of current bills that impact on seniors.
June 11
~ 10 to 11 a.m. ~ Isolated Seniors Community
Task Force: meets monthly to discuss ways to provide
information to isolated elderly citizens about
services available to them. This Task Force was
organized by the Amador County Commission on Aging
but includes any interested members of the public
who are interested in helping reach out to elderly
citizen who may not use the customary means of
getting information and help.

June 10
and 17 ~ 12:30 to 4:30 p.m ~ 55 Alive/Mature
Drivers course. AARP sponsored drivers' education
program to teach older drivers safety and increase
awareness of age-related risks. $10 per person.
Certificate issued after second session. Discount
on all automobile insurance policies in California.
June
18th ~ Amador County Commission on Aging. 10 to
noon: Kathleen Harmon, Interfaith Food Bank and Ann
Richards, ATCAA Energy Assistance programs: impact
of food and energy costs on seniors in Amador
County. Business meeting of the Commission to
follow. Open to the public.
June
25th ~ Caregivers' Support Group ~ 10 to 11:30
a.m. Supportive resources for people who are dealing
with caring for a loved one. Discussion and sharing
of ideas and suggestions for coping with the stress
of care giving.
June
28th ~ "Understanding Memory Loss, Dementia and
Alzheimer's Disease" ~ Mary Gillon, Regional
Director for the Northern California/Nevada
Alzheimer's Association.
10 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m. Open to general public as well as
professional caregivers. No charge.
